影片《夏伯阳》根据富尔曼诺夫的同名小说改编，前苏联列宁格勒电影制片厂1934年出品。片中塑造了夏伯阳这位苏联国内战争中传奇式的英雄人物。该片是苏联电影史上的杰作，人物形象鲜明，语言性格化，片中“精神战”一场，堪称场面蒙太奇的典范。影片荣获1941年斯大林奖金，在1978年评选的国际电影诞生以来100部最佳影片排行榜中，金榜题名。夏伯阳是苏联国内战争时期传奇式的英雄人物。这是在严酷的1919年红军同高尔察克白匪军作殊死战的战线上。一阵叮当的铃声，一架三套马车从广阔无垠的俄罗斯原野上飞驰而来。一群被白匪击溃的游击队员衣帽不整，狼狈地迎着马车跑来。马车冲进人群，一个目光锐利，像哥萨克那样歪戴着帽子的人敏捷地站起身来喝住人群。“站住，上哪儿去？”被驱赶得弃枪丢鞋的游击队员们，听到他们指挥员的喊声，马上停下。“来，跟我走！”随着一声令下，人们似乎振作起来，跟着马车往回冲去。车上的机枪吐出火舌，扫向敌村。敌人遭到不曾意料的反击，措手不及，一见马车上那勇士更是吓破了胆，纷纷弃甲而逃。游击队转败为胜，夺回村子。这个率领士兵冲锋陷阵的骁勇的指挥官，就是令敌人闻风丧胆的夏伯阳……后把英勇善战的将士说成是夏伯阳式的。
